Last Friday the Belgian launch of the Eastpak Artist Studio 2012 took place in our Pop Up Shop in Antwerp! People could see a lot of the customized bags in avant-première, meet the designers and artists and there was  a very cool live gig & DJ set. Antwerp's Mayor Patrick Janssens (pictured here with moi) also customized a bag and gave a speech where he praised the work of Designers against AIDS- cue some major happy gloating all around;-)!

On January 18 Eastpak launched their Artist Studio 2012 @ art house Tacheles in Berlin with a series of rucksacks customized by luminaries such as Johnny Marr (The Smiths), Marc Atlan, Jordan Betten, singer Yelle, designer Julie Verhoeven, singer Marina Diamondis of Marina & The Diamonds and around 150 more artists- including our students Clizia Garrone and Alexandra Fernandez! The bags will be sold online in around 55 days and all proceeds will benefit the eudcation center of Designers against AIDS. More launch events are planned for  London (February 1 in a bar/gallery in Shoreditch), Rotterdam (at The Raw Art Fair on February 8), and a host of other cities worldwide, with more details to follow soon. Enjoy & spread the word please!
