Last week I came up with the idea to start a new campaign for Designers Against AIDS. I thought about this being my last week interning here and I really didn't want to leave without one last campaign! So I started to assemble pictures. At that point, I didn't have a clue what to make of them.

I started by looking for faces and after that for a few different hairstyles. When I had found a few pictures that I liked, I fired up Photoshop, put them all together and tried to find a connection. I knew that I wanted to make people aware of the fact that they should always try to be safe, but that there are other ways to do it than the ways that they usually use to keep safe.

I thought about those usual ways -and about some unusual ways too, when taking the barb wire into account. I made three pictures, each of them with a woman who is protecting herself from something. The hand appearing on the right side of the picture tells the woman that there are other ways to protect yourself, for example by using a condom.

If you're curious about the other posters, you can find them all in the next couple of days on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. I really hope that people pick up on the campaign and share it, so that everyone can be reminded that whenever you can you should remember to protect yourself !
