This organization was founded thanks the efforts of Margaret Sanger, an American birth control activist, sex educator, and nurse born in 1879. In 1916 she opened the first birth control clinic in the United States that later will become the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. During a whole century this organization fought for many controversial causes concerning reproductive rights, like abortion, sex education and - obviously - safe sex.
