Designers against AIDS (DAA) is organizing an exciting project where fashion designers  and students make a new outfit from second hand clothes.

These outfits were photographed on models, could be seen as  installations at Antwerp's oldes vintage and second hand store Pardaf (Gemeentestraat 8, 2060 Antwerp) and they are now also showcased online to buy: https://designersagainstaids.myshopify.com/products/veronique-branquinho-upcycled-beige-dress

All proceeds raised go to support the work of DAA, in particular our project ‘Asia against AIDS-Back To Zero: Indonesia’ and our ‘Youth For A Better World Online Education Center’ that’s based in Antwerp.

The following designers  created  new, beautiful outfits out of discarded clothes- a creative challenge with a sustainable message- and for a very important cause.

Véronique Branquinho, Mandy Webb, Naco Paris, Abelone Wilhelmsen, An Buearmans, Fadime Tezerdi, Catherine Costa and Danane Bazouka.

Most of the outfits were made with the help of fashion students from St Godelieve in Deurne (5th year TSO), who made the outfit according to the designer’s directions  -they loved getting involved this way. Students of art school St Maria in Borgerhout helped with the look & feel of the installation and the promotion on- and offline.

This way we hope we can educate a lot of young people – not only about recycling/upcycling and sustainability, but also about HIV/AIDS and the need for safe seks.
