To celebrate The National Education Day on the 2nd of May, the student activity unit of Makassar State University held an interesting event called “Students Concerned about HIV/AIDS and Drugs”, or MAPHAN in short. The theme of MAPHAN was ‘Unite Hearts With Action Through Work for Free Generation HIV / AIDS and Drugs’. Besides giving information and education to High School students, the activities also included a scientific writing competition for students, a three-dimensional wall magazine competition and a musical poetry competition. These competitions were joined by 90 students from 16 schools, from all over South and West Sulawesi. The aim of these activities was to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS among young people. I know that not all people from different levels of society in Indonesia can get the same education, but they deserve the right to get it and they equally have the same rights to get HIV/AIDS education. So, let’s celebrate The National Education Day by organizing more HIV/AIDS education projects for everybody -especially for our young people. Like we do right now with Indonesia against AIDS (.com)!
