Keeping Up To Date With Rihanna

Here at DAA we like to keep up to date with news about celebrities who have partnered with us in the past or participated in the Fashion Against AIDS campaign.

Last weekend, I was wandering around the streets of Antwerp and noticed a few in-store adverts of the new autumn collection of Rihanna for Mac, called RiRi ♥ MAC Fall. If you like it, you better hurry up, her first RiRi Woo lipstick, for example, sold out in 3 hours!

As some of you might know already, during our Fashion Against AIDS collaboration with H&M, Rihanna designed a top with the word ‘Believe’ as it’s the name of her own foundation, which helps terminally ill children. To check out a video of her talking about our project, click here.

It’s worth mentioning that MAC is another friend of DAA since they supported our project by donating part of their proceeds of the lipsticks by Viva Glam, which also helps to raise funds for the Mac Aids Fund. Their mission, just like ours, is to raise HIV/AIDS awareness among young people around the globe and to serve those who are infected with the virus. And what do you know: Rihanna is the face of Viva Glam for 2014!

She's a real icon and knows exactly how to promote her image – as well as surprising us with her adventures in the meantime.

So far this year, she designed a spring collection for River Island which she presented at London Fashion Week earlier this year – afterwards designing also summer, fall and winter versions (same as she did with MAC); appeared on the movie This Is The End with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg; launched her fourth women’s fragrance “Rogue”; toured for her Diamonds World Tour in which she travelled across 5 continents giving 97 shows in total with a $50.1 million box office and is now also the executive producer of the American reality competition show about fashion design, starring Pharrell Williams and Erin Wasson.

No wonder On March 7, 2013, Spotify announced that Rihanna is the most streamed artist worldwide. In 2013, she was also named the most influential artist in the United Kingdom and the most influential celebrity on the internet.

In other words, she knows how to put up a show and we love it!

On this photo Rihanna is wearing an outfit designed by Jeremy Scott for Adidas Originals (S/S 2014, natch)- Jeremy just got named as the new creative director at Moschino and we love it, as he has the same tongue in cheek humor as Mr Moschino had - and hopefully we can work together at some point on a cool HIV prevention campaign- like Mr Moschino & his label did so very well in the past!
