Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil is the heir to a 650 year-old dynasty, and the first Indian royal to come out as gay. It took him thirty years of struggle and a failed marriage before he came out and dedicated his life to gay activism.
Prince Manvendra founded Lakshya Trust, which is acknowledged as one of the best NGOs in Gujarat, India, and which garnered him the UNAIDS Civil Society Award from the United Nations.
He was the only Indian to appear twice on the Oprah Winfrey Show, and has Grand-Marshaled pride parades in Stockholm and Sao Paolo. Prince Manvendra, the most visible GLBT figure to one-sixth of the world, is now expanding his work through his global LGBT Public Awareness Campaign:‪@‎FreeGayIndia‬.
