www.casserosalute.it is an interesting Italian gay website that has many functions: it is a guide for HIV+ LGBT people, it has a blog about HIV/AIDS issues and it gives detailed information about SAFE sex and GOOD sex too. Here you can read slogans like “Pleasure also in prevention”: I really agree with ideas like this since I think that fun, pleasure and safety are the three most important things when it comes to sex Unfortunately the site is only in Italian, however I believe it is still noteworthy and I would like to share it with you.

But first things first, I have to give a brief description of what “Il Cassero” is: it is a cultural gay centre in Bologna, one of the oldest and the most important in Italy. It was created in 1978 and in 1982 it became a club of ARCIGAY, the main Italian organization for LGBT rights. In 1985 ARCIGAY chose Cassero as the national headquarters.

This information shows two important tendencies: firstly, in Italy LGBT movements were born very late, not a surprise. Secondly, Bologna is one of the most progressive and open-minded cities in my country. I had the privilege of experiencing this since I was a teenager and, for this, I have a deep love for this town.
