Tomorrow May 31 the Life Ball 2014 is taking place in Vienna, the largest event around HIV/AIDS prevention, research and funding in Europe- if not the world- and the most fun. Famous fashion designers and artists mix with former US presidents and drag queens, everybody dresses up and has a good time, while at the same time fighting stigma around HIV, the LGBT community and intolerance.
This year Conchita Wurst is one of the guest speakers, Courtney Love and Kesha will perform among others, there's a men's fashion show by designers such as Vivienne Westwood and lots more. Tickets were sold out months ago and I'm sure that the Life Ball will again raise millions of euros for HIV/AIDS organizations all over the world, while the guests will have the time of their lives.
Each year the Life Ball has a remarkable promotional poster and this year is no different, with two photos by famous photographer David LaChapelle of transgender woman and model Carmen Carrera, inspired by this year's Life Ball theme 'The Garden of Earthly Delights'. The poster has sparked controversy in Austria, which was to be expected, but we see nothing wrong with these beautiful images. And neither did some children in Austria, who were interviewed by an intrepid reporter of VICE Magazine: http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/life-ball-poster-fp-children?utm_source=vicefbuk We particularly like what 8 year old Laurenz had to say: “He or she needs a feel-good bra and Ronaldo briefs.”
Exactly.  There are more important things in life to get upset about, such as those neo-nazis getting elected in the European Parliament last weekend. Party on Life Ball and keep up the brilliant work!
