Everybody knows that we love fashion almost as much as we love fighting HIV/AIDS, so imagine our delight when earlier today UNAIDS retweeted a message from the Born Free Africa organization announcing a new fashion project that launches today, including _DAA as one of the recipients, next to UNAIDS Director Michel Sidibé, Annie Leibovitz (who photographed the campaign) and Victoria Beckham! Models include Doutzen Kroes together with her cute son.
Born Free is a global initiative with the goal of ending mother-to-child HIV transmission by December 31, 2015. The exclusive Shopbop + Born Free capsule collection was formed in collaboration with 22 female top designers -all mothers themselves- including Prada, Céline, Tory Burch, Victoria Beckham and Isabel Marant. 100% of the profits from this collection will benefit Born Free. The MAC AIDS Fund will match all donations and the total purchase price of all products sold, up to $500,000.

The elegant skirt on the main photo, designed by Miuccia Prada, is cut in a chic, pleated A-line profile and patterned in an exclusive Born Free print, designed by Kenyan artist Wangechi Mutu. It costs $245 (roughly 200 €), which is not much, especially not considering that all profits will help put an end to mother-to-child transmission of HIV in Africa. There are tons of cute designs avaliable for women, girls and babies and we advise you to hurry up as they might get sold out pretty fast. And rightly so!
