Last night was the opening of "Het Geweven Woord" (The Woven Word) in Turnhout (part of Turnhout 2012, Cultural Capital of Flanders), in which Designers Against AIDS is showing an extensive retrospective of its ready-to-wear collections (via a genius timeline designed by Jean-Yves Dushime), customized T-shirts andother fashionalbe objects from the likes of Dirk Benesch (Louis Antwerp), Tim Van Steenbergen, Diane Pernet, Naco Paris... The exhibition includes collections of antique African textiles, World War 1 era kimonos with military motifs, traditional textiles from native American Indians in Panama... plenty of interesting collections, in short. The exhibition will be open to the public free of charge from September 1-30 daily (except Mondays) from 10 AM- 5PM and is in The Old Library next to cultural centre De Warande in Turnhout. See you there!
