Almost 30 years ago AIDS changed the world: the disease of our generation was diagnosed for the first time. Although a lot has changed since then, we are still far away from an AIDS-free world. American journalist Anderson Cooper dedicates a one hour TV special today to HIV/AIDS, focusing on the role stigma plays in the spread of the infection both in Western civilisation and around the world. The importance of education and prevention to obtain a HIV-free future generation will also be highlighted and Cooper will also explore the latest medical breakthroughs and discoveries.

In addition to that, the show will invite celebrities such as Susan Sarandon, Sharon Stone and Kareem Abdul Jabbar, who will talk about how HIV/AIDS changed their lives and their way of thinking and there will be an exclusive, in-depth interview with Sir Elton John, the founder of the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
