If you’re already switched on to the Designers Against AIDS cause, here’s something we know you’ll be interested in...
An exciting new project, The Red Tape, is calling on creatives the world over – from the biggest names to fresh emerging talent – to use their ingenuity to help support international AIDS charity, AVERT, with their vital work.

Whether your skill is in graphics, illustration, fashion, photography, film, or audio, they’re looking for talented and passionate people to contribute work to this unique project, which will unite creatives from all sectors to work together to fight AIDS. It’s also a great opportunity to show your work on a high-profile platform, and potentially have it included in a beautiful printed book.

AVERT funds community-based projects in the areas of the world most severely affected by HIV and AIDS, including countries in sub-Saharan Africa and India. AVERT aims to provide education, treatment and care as well as focusing on supporting children orphaned or otherwise affected by HIV and AIDS.

The idea behind The Red Tape project is simple. They’d like you to produce a piece of work – or find something relevant that you may have already created – that best illustrates your personal thoughts on this destructive virus. Then, upload your work to The Red Tape website.

You’ll need to make a donation which will, incrementally, rise by position number (for example position 1 costs £1; position 100 costs £100). They’ll credit the designer, the studio and the medium in which you work, and link through to your website. All money donated will go directly to support AVERT’s projects, such as preventing mothers transmitting the disease to their children and providing education to enable prevention of further contamination, as well as treatment and care.

DAA has recently donated and uploaded a lovely piece of work 'Bring Safe Sexy Back'. You can view it – along with other work in The Red Tape’s gallery.
