“Protect Yourself”, this is the message that Dennis Bermudez and Miesha Tate are supporting.  They might be tough and rough in the ring, but still have a softer and caring side when it comes to creating HIV awareness.

The UFC got together with the Gay Men’s Health Crisis and other three groups to create a campaign that shows how important HIV testing and safe sex really are. The fact that these two stars are the faces of the new campaign is ideal. They are practicing a sport that reaches a lot of young people. Tate herself is just 27, so it’s more likely that these young people will actually listen to a star their age.

Tate’s inspiring words: “I think it would be an injustice to have a position to be a role model for young people and not do something with it.”

Not bad ha? Young, beautiful and really a good hearted person.

Both Miesha and Dennis demonstrated an HIV test at the launch of the ‘Protect Yourself’ campaign. If you’re going to be a role model, you might as well do it right. Big thanks to UFC, Dennis en Miesha and of course the Gay Men’s Health Crisis for making an effort in creating awareness and preventing HIV.
