Last Friday I went to Denpasar, the capital of Bali, to pay a visit to the Balinese chapter of the Internation Planned Parenthood Association (IPPA). We want to work together on our HIV prevention project here in Bali so I explained about the work of Designers against AIDS (DAA) and our International HIV/AIDS Awareness Education Center (IHAEC) in Belgium and our plans for the new Bali against AIDS website and they told me about the amazing work they do here, such as driving to Kuta with a mobile testing unit every week, making their own website and social media, educating at schools and much more. Because DAA is targeted at youth, they invited their young volunteers Cakra, Mae and Wida to attend the meeting and as they were very interested to help after hearing my story, I hope that one or more among them will be joining our workshops that start next week. The young IPPA volunteers loved our book 'Designers against AIDS: The First Decade!' and the DAA pins that I brought with me (they're all wearing one on the group photo) and I hope to see them again soon!
