World AIDS Day might be on December 1st but AIDS Walks actually happen all year long. Among the biggest Walks organized worldwide, this month we have AIDS Walk Los Angeles October 14th, AIDS Walk & Run 5k Atlanta and Philadelphia, which are both on October 21st, and AIDS Walk Washington DC on October 27th. In 2011, over 1 million dollars was raised thanks to AIDS Walk Atlanta alone. This year AIDS Walk Los Angeles is currently and already at $1,660,313! Wanna make your contribution but can't make it to a Walk? For both AIDS Walk Atlanta and Philadelphia you can register as a "Virtual Walker" and help raise funds from wherever you are! In Philadelphia, AIDS Walk Philly is among the largest annual HIV/AIDS awareness and fundraising event in the region. Thousands of people of all ages, from or around the area get involved like, for example, Lena Ulrich, a student at Westtown School in West Chester, Pennsylvania, who recently wrote telling us how her school is yearly committed to sending a team to walk in AIDS Walk Philly and help in the fight against AIDS! It's awesome to see people's awareness, concern and involvement at increasingly younger ages and we look forward to seeing this trend grow more and more worldwide. Much DAA love and support to these kids for getting involved! Good Walk Lena and let us know how it goes :-) x La Vero
