So for those of you who still don't know, Obama won the U.S presidential elections and we at DAA are especially happy considering his views/plans on (public) health and commitment to policies and/or projects for HIV/AIDS research and prevention funding.
In spite of the economic recession, Obama was in fact the first US president to implement a National AIDS Strategy. Among other things, according to the AIDS Community Research Initiatives of America, the Obama administration has also successfully lifted a longtime ban on HIV-positive travelers--an achievement which allowed this year’s International AIDS Conference to be held in the US for the first time since it started in 1985.
