I’m sorry I haven’t been in touch much lately but it’s been a bit busy, both on a personal and on a professional level. It’s that horrible time of the year where administration gets the best of me. You see, my brain runs on overdrive when numbers and applications are involved. Oh and it was my birthday last week: 22 at last! Not that it’s such a special age, but I couldn’t let this year pass without throwing a birthday party… Or two. I would have invited all of you if I could, but well let’s face it: my home is not made for the next project X.

How did I spend my ‘big day'?  I woke up early (which never happens on a normal day), jumped out of bed, poked my boyfriend until he woke up too - pretty annoyed with me- and enjoyed my first birthday celebrations. Cake for breakfast sounds like a great deal to me! While enjoying the sweet taste of strawberry, I checked my Facebook to see how many strangers took the time to wish me a happy birthday. Although most people get annoyed with posts of people who you haven’t heard/seen for the past few years, not me, I get excited. For all those who didn’t notice yet, I am a very big fan of birthdays.  I walked around all day singing to myself ‘Yo shawty, it’s my birthday. We’re gonna party like it’s my birthday’. Sounds a bit silly and self-absorbed, but to the general public I looked like a very happy girl who was friendly to everyone. Even while working, I couldn’t stop humming and was in the best of spirits when I figured out more cake was coming my way. I was sad to see the end of my day coming near, but enjoyed the thought of spending it with a few close friends and of course, I can't forget that I organized a party to celebrate again this weekend.
