When you are reading the biography of Jack Mackenroth you almost can't believe that all that could be written just about one man's life. Mackenroth's an American swimmer, model and fashion designer, who also graduated with a double degree in Fine Arts and Sociology. But the most important part in Jack's life is his HIV/AIDS activism.

Jack has been living with HIV for 25 years and he never tried to hide his status. Even in 'Project Runway', the TV reality show for young designers, he was absolutely open about it. He believes that public visibility educates and saves lives.

Now he is joining the team of crazy riders who want to drive 285 miles in three days to earn money for the charity organization Housing Works, which helps HIV- positive people in their lives, mainly the ones who are struggling with housing. The strongest motivation for Jack in this 3 day 'Braking AIDS Ride' will be the memory of his partner Greg Beutler, who died because of AIDS releated health issues in 1996.

Now -not only in the name of Greg, but that's certainly a good motivation- Jack wants to achieve the breathtaking fundraising goal of 50,000 US$ -and we wish him a lot of luck on his way!
