Once again back to the US, where the frightening new HIV infection rates among youth might have shocked you yesterday. Now more about the other risk group for HIV/AIDS namely the minority of the African American community. Since the risk of getting infected is really high within this community, the project "Rap It Up" was founded in 1998 by the Black Entertainment Television in collaboration with the Kaiser Family Foundation. The extraordinary thing about this campaign is that it especially addresses African Americans in the US by using all kinds of media in order to spread information about HIV/AIDS and topics such as condom use, testing, stigma. .. etc.

Famous celebrities like Alicia Keys, Magic Johnson, Wyclef Jean, Rae Lewis Thornton and Sheryl Lee Ralph support this project and  recently soul artist Conya Doss joined this group. She wants to reach today's youth with her latest CD "A Pocketful of Purpose" and empower them to make the right decisions in their lives. Good luck Conya with your project and welcome to the team!
