This goes out to all of you die hard Cyndi Lauper fans out there. The 80ies pop singer had some great singles, one of them is “She Bop”, the third song of her album “She’s so unusual”. The song is about masturbation, so you can imagine that it caused some controversy in 1984. This does not take away the fact that the song was her most commercial successful single after ‘”Time After Time”. “She bop” even ended up in the ‘filthy fifteen’ list at the Parents Music Resource Center because of the sexual lyrics. Cyndi never intended for this to happen, she actually wanted kids to think that the song was about dancing. As they would get older they would understand the real meaning of it.
