I Hate It But I Love It

Good morning guys. I hope it was a good morning. Personally, I’ve never understood the ‘good’ part in ‘good morning’, what’s sooooo good about it? You can already guess that I’m not really a morning person.

Anyways let’s talk about the public transportation, or just let me get out all of my frustrations. So every morning I take the bus to the city and there I take the tram to get to DAA. I have two options: I can either take the earlier bus and be more than half an hour early or I can take the later bus and be just on time. I’ve been taking both during my time here and haven’t had any problems so far. Until this morning when I decided to take the later bus. No big deal, been there, done that. Only today the bus was 10 minutes late, there were so many people on it that just had to get off and on at every single bus stop. I mean come on, just drive.  Whenever I’m in a hurry to get somewhere, it takes ages to get there. But when I have all the time of the world and it doesn’t really matter when I arrive, it takes like 5 minutes. Stop doing that! And another thing for the travellers, please shower. It’s not pleasant to sit next to someone who smells like they’ve been rolling in dirt for a month. That just makes my morning …. ‘grrr‘.  Or what about the fact that when someone sits next to you, but basically is almost sitting on your lap. Scoot over!

Alright, now that I’ve had the chance to say all of that (hope I haven’t forgotten anything) I have to say that the public transportation in Belgium is actually quite good. Of course it can’t meet every person’s individual need, but it gets pretty close. So, thanks to 'De lijn' I guess.
