So Long Farewell Auf Wiedersehen Goodbye

Here it is, my last blog entry ever for DAA. I haven’t really thought about what to say, since I’m really bad at saying goodbye. The last thing I want is to sound cheesy but I’m afraid there just isn’t another way to talk about these two wonderful months.

When I started my first day I was really shy, but the hospitality in this house is so overwhelming that it’s just impossible to not feel at home here. DAA gave me a lot of new opportunities; sometimes it was a bit scary, like going to a workshop or an exhibition by myself, or calling with people I don’t know (yes I’m one of those people who are terrified of using a telephone). But all these things made me grow, on a professional and on a personal level. Also, the people I met here made this experience something I will never forget and I’m sorry I have to leave them now. Every one of them has their own unique personality, Ayke is so positive and outgoing and I just love talking to her. Matteo really is the cutest and most hilarious Italian guy I ever met. Branislava is very down to earth but so dreamy and artsy at the same time. Elias is a magician so what’s not to love about that!? Ninette is probably the most inspiring woman I will ever meet. Jean-Yves will absolutely be the most funny person I will ever get to work with and then there is Peke, the caring father of the house whose homemade bread I will really miss.

The only thing I can say is that my life really changed for the better these last couple of weeks. I can honestly say that I’ve never been as happy as I am now and I’m sure that DAA also had a lot to do with that! If I could do it all over again, I really wouldn’t change a thing.
