As you might have noticed, here at DAA we are more and more interested in movies - and with good reason, since our last achievement at the MIKRO Festival of Belgrade with our own short movie N.I.P.P.L.E.! We think that working with pop culture should also imply being aware of the impact that video products have on society.

The organizers of the next AVN Awards, the adult movie festival by AVN Media Network, got this lesson too and made an important statement today: "Best Safe Sex Scene" and "Best Condom Manufacturer" are two of the new entries within the group of the festival's categories.

"As a show of support for those promoting safe sex practices we thought it would be not only fitting but important to add these categories," AVN senior editor Peter Warren said. "While we continue to stand opposed to governmental interference with the product this industry manufactures, we also feel that those whose products encourage safe sex in interesting and innovative ways deserve to be commended". This is the right answer to the current controversy about Californian administration against the shooting of un-safe sex scenes. While this aspect still needs to be discussed, the promotion of safe sex is absolutely a priority.

The pre-nomination submission session is now open and the 31st AVN Awards Show is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2014 at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. We will keep an eye on what will be going on with the nominees and we will keep you informed.
